Overview

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) will represent The Client and its approved oncology product indicated for a rare non-small cell lung cancer. The CNE is responsible for promoting the safe and effective use of products and the growth of the Company. Specifically, the CNE will provide peer to peer product and disease state knowledge to community-based hematology and oncology care providers.

 

The educational sessions, clinical in-services and product training provided by the CNE will support the safe and effective utilization and demand for the Client’s products. The CNE will collaborate with the field sales teams to identify and prioritize activities in key accounts products to advance the outcomes of patients.

 

Accountabilities

  • Provide clinical in-services and scientific education to academic and community-based hematology-oncology nurses and related health care professionals (HCPs) in target offices and hospital systems about the correct use of products
  • Develop peer relationships with stakeholders and establish rapport through highly effective interactions and engagements
  • Build authentic relationships based on value of experience, expertise and delivery of service to community based health care professionals, hematologists and oncologists
  • Demonstrate clinical, scientific and technical expertise in the oncology and hematology therapeutic areas
  • Develop, coordinate and assure implementation of corporate, scientific and clinical strategies within the specific cancer community
  • Respond to requests from field-based sales to interact with community-based HCPs to provide described educational sessions
  • Discover and communicate relevant customer information to support medical and commercial strategies as appropriate
  • Train colleagues on products, pathways of care, barriers to safe and appropriate use, techniques to overcome barriers, etc. as appropriate
  • May deliver “speaker slide decks” on products at Speaker Programs as needed
  • Represent the company and support select local and regional scientific meetings. Interpret and report findings with recommendations for action to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Work toward meeting established program metrics, complete all administrative responsibilities consistent with SOPs and departmental guidelines including but not limited to required training, field activity documentation, expense reporting and other assigned tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required (BSN). Advanced Practice Nurse preferred (MSN, NP)
  • Active nursing license in good standing
  • 3 years clinical nurse experience required
  • 3 year hematology or oncology experience required
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred (field based medical, clinical educator, medical information, sales)
  • A working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements is needed
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills are required to effectively carry out the responsibilities of this position
  • Ability to build productive work relationships both internally and externally
  • Individuals must possess strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication
  • Computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and programs such as Adobe ® are expected
  • A willingness to travel frequently within assigned geographical territory, including overnight travel. May be requested to travel out of territory to attend meetings and assist with coverage
  • Valid Driver’s license
