The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent the Company and its Rheumatology/Gastroenterology portfolio.

 

As a member of the Medical Affairs field-based team, the MSL will identify and engage with health care providers (HCPs) in Rheumatology/Gastroenterology, providing disease state information and responding to unsolicited medical requests for information. Additionally, the MSL will identify interested researchers, and educational opportunities. The MSL will be required to collaborate with the Companies commercial colleagues when compliantly tasked. It is expected, that the MSL be solidly versed in the clinical data such that the full range of innovative science and clinical outcomes can be appreciated by the healthcare practitioner.

Accountabilities

  • Identify HCPs within institutions, hospital systems, group and private practices within assigned region
  • Develop scientific relationships with HCPs
  • Represent Company at Medical Conferences including medical booth and/or clinical session coverage and/or competitive intelligence gathering
  • Effectively shepherd the Company’s or HCPs’ research interests per Company policy and procedures
  • Adhere to all Company policies and SOPs
  • Respond to HCP unsolicited inquiries
  • Compliantly communicate to HCPs approved scientific/clinical data or disease state information consistent with Company medical imperatives
  • Present scientific and/or disease state information/data to managed care organizations (ACOs, MCOs, PBMs)
  • Support clinical training of commercial colleagues as needed 
  • Complete activity, travel & expense, and compliance reporting

Qualifications

  • Terminal degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD/DO)
  • 2 plus years post graduate healthcare related work experience 
  • Clinical experience in Rheumatology and / or Gastroenterology area required (Gastroenterology preferred)
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, FDA requirements and PhRMA code
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, team, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and education skills; ability to communicate clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively
  • Demonstrated project management ability
  • Travel up to 60-70%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Valid driver’s license
