Overview

Serving as a field-based extension of the US Medical Oncology Department, the Immuno-Oncology Nurse Liaison (IONL) will provide coverage for critical point of care (POC) safety management education. The Immuno-Oncology Nurse Liaison (IONL) is responsible for playing a key role in the education of nursing professionals working in the field of Immuno-Oncology and  will be serving in a field-based role to provide education to nurses caring for patients receiving Immuno-Oncology treatments.  The Nurse Liaison will be integral in providing support to health care providers with a special focus on the management of immune-mediated adverse reactions (IMARs) and disease state.

Accountabilities

  • This individual will be responsible for supporting and informing a ‘Best in Pharma’ customer education strategy via on-site support at critical point of care (POC) for IMARs and identifying educational safety needs/gaps.
  • Work in partnership with the field sales and field medical teams to identify community clinics with educational needs and will be responsible for delivering appropriate, approved educational in-services to support these needs within the assigned Region.
  • Identify, collect and communicate insights to address competitive medical information in addition to insights on trends and changes affecting the regulatory and payer environment used to develop medical strategies.
  • Focus on specific educational/business needs of the teams based on a solid understanding of how patients interact with the health care system and the potentially available and relevant patient support resources and tools.
  • Provide clinical education to support the safe and appropriate use of our medicines.
  • The Nurse Liaison must be versed in emerging IO management trends and patient monitoring with the ability to engage and inform clinician customers.
  • The Nurse Liaison must fully comply with all company policies and applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • BSN required; Advanced Oncology Nurse highly desired
  • In depth knowledge of Oncology
  • Understanding of the US Healthcare system, the pharmaceutical industry and clinical and health economic practices in the US
  • Position is field based. 60-80% travel required within PR
  • Chemotherapy infusion experience preferred
  • Patient and peer education experience preferred
